The study was designed to investigate the pattern of stress parents experience in bringing up their visually handicapped children by parent variables and children variables to compare if there are difference in the coping style of parent``s stress by parent variables and children variables, and finally to provide the visually handicapped``s parents with basic information needed to maximize the understanding and minimize the stress. The contents of the study are as follows. First, to investigate bringing up stress of the visually handicapped``s parents by parents variables(age, formal school, whether or not employed, and monthly income). Second, to investigate bringing up stress of the visually handicapped``s parents by children variables(sex, age, the extent of handicap, whether or not aware the cause of handicap, whether or not double handicaps). Third, to investigate the coping style with the stress of the visually handicapped``s parents by parent variables(age, formal schooling, whether or not employed, monthly income) Forth, to investigate the coping style with the stress of the visually handicapped``s parents by children variables(sex, age, the extent of handicap, whether or not aware of the cause of handicap, whether or not dually handicapped).

As the most essential components in learning textbooks, reading are very important to develop a individual intelligence, emotion, and sociality. Reading difficulties appearing in the lower grades of an elementary school and children with developmental disabilities on the whole might give severe effects on the development, and it has a tendency to continue until the adulthood. We are having many problems in the systemic program and teaching method in teaching children with reading difficulties in Korea. So this study would introduce PREP(PASS reading enhancement program), based on a children development and a cognitiveness to the Korea and search for the theorical background of PREP, is applying for, organization and effects, and the possibility of application to classroom under the circumstances.

The purpose of this study was to investigated the characteristics of clothing behavior of teachers working for schools for the mentally retarded. The subjects for this study included 194 teachers who are visiting special schools in Chonbuk, Kwangju for the mentally retarded. The clothing behaviors was composed of four variables : esthetic, modesty, fashion, and clothing important. The result of the study were as followings : First, teacher``s clothing behaviors showed a significant difference according to sex. The female & male teachers showed an affirmative response in order esthetic, fashion, clothing important, modesty. Namely the married teachers showed more interest in modesty than unmarried teachers. Teachers whose age had a little took more fashion. According to school grade, the elementary school teachers put greater emphasis on modesty the middle school teachers did. By career, the 15-year or more career was to think important fashion. For a certificate of qualification, those who were officially qualified for special teacher and both special & non-special teacher showed interest in esthetic, fashion. By major, department of science teacher showed interest in esthetic and modesty. Second, in the relationship between clothing behavior and the variable clothing behavior factors, the esthetic is negatively correlated with modesty and is positively correlated with fashion & clothing importance. The modesty is negatively correlated with fashion and is positively with clothing important. The fashion is positively correlated with clothing important. The clothing important is positively correlated with esthetic, modesty, fashion.

The purpose of this study is to explore the strategy of mathematics teaching-learning for the child with developmental disabilities, being adapted by the 7th Revised Basic Curriculum of Special Schools in Korea. In order to do this task, it needs that, first, reviewing the related literature for investigating the characteristics of teaching and learning for the child with developmental disabilities, second, searching the direction for the education of mathematics by comparing present and previous curricular, and third, finding out the method and principle of basic curriculum for mathematics teaching-learning. This study would assist directly teachers in teaching the mathematics by adapting the 7th Revised Basic Curriculum of Special Schools in the field.

The purpose of this study were to evaluate the effect of aquatic exercise on body composition, pulmonary function and physical fitness. The subjects for this study were five spasticity cerebral palsy(18~20 years). The aquatic exercise program consisted of 11 item, and performed for 30~40mins in a bout, 3 times a week at the intensity of HRmax(40~65%) for 12 weeks. And the change of body weight, %fat, fat mass, vital capacity, hand grip, sit-ups, trunk flexion, closed eyes foot balance and shuttle-run have been measured in baseline, post 4, 8 and 12 weeks respectively. The following results were obtained from this study. Hand grip(2~4kg), sit-ups(5~8 bouts), trunk flexion(1~4cm) and closed eyes foot balance(0.25~2.43sec) were increased after individually aquatic exercise for 12 weeks respectively. And, shuttle-run(0.37~0.9sec) was decreased after aquatic exercise. These results suggest that aqustic exercise for 12 weeks affects on body composition, pulmonary function and physical fitness to the spasticity cerebral palsy. On the other hand, long term regular aquatic exercise programs are applicable to the spasticity cerebral palsy with abnormal movement in safety through the re-composition of exercise intensity and mode.

Human language has been developed in a society. This means that human communication in reality and its social inclusion are very deeply related to each other. The purpose of this study is to investigate the relevance of the realization of the Right of Communication and its Social Inclusion by reconstructing of O. Sacks``s argument for Sign Language which is a real Human Language. The result of this study is as follows; First, the realization of the Right of Communication is a necessity for the Social Inclusion. Second, we should accept that the Sign Language which the deaf use is a real Human Language. So in conclusion, the change of recognition and social acceptance of the Sign Language as a Human Language are required in our society.
