All human beings have inherent rights that need to be respected and protected. This idea has been accepted since the 1948 Universal Declaration of Human Rights. Everyone has the right to education(Article 26.). Unfortunately, children with disabilities continue to experience various forms of discrimination in education. The purpose of this study was to investigate the educational rights of children with disabilities and to provide basic information in order to set up and develop educational policies to protect the educational rights of children with disabilities. This study investigated the educational rights of children with disabilities in South Korea. The participants of study were 43,944 children with disabilities in elementary, middle, and high school. The findings of the study were as follows. Most children with disabilities are recognized as positive to protect the educational rights of children with disabilities. But human rights is a personal matter. In this regard, many children with disabilities still experience various forms of discrimination in education. Detailed suggestions are made as to how governments can further promote, protect, and realize the educational rights of children with disabilities.

The objective of this study is to investigate the current trends in qualitative research on secondary special education in Korea and to propose a future direction, by analyzing research papers on secondary special education published in domestic academic journals. Among research papers published in academic journals between 2005 and June 2015, 66 papers were selected for analysis. These papers were analyzed by year of publication, by journal, by research topic, and by research methodology. The analysis results showed that the outcomes of qualitative research on secondary special education began to be published in academic journals in 2005, and the publication of those papers was most active in 2012 and 2013. Among the examined journals, Research on Intellectual Disorder published the largest number of research papers. The most researched topics were, ‘inclusive education’ and ‘transition education’. Basic qualitative research was the most common type of methodology, mental disorders were examined by type of disability, and special class was examined by school class type. The number of research participants per study ranged from, six to 10 and special education teachers were most often the research. In terms of data collection, one-on-one interviews were most widely used the data collection period was five months or longer. Repetitive comparative analysis was the most common analysis method, and verification of participant identity was most commonly used to test the integrity of research results. Based on these findings, we discussed the future direction of qualitative research on secondary special education.

The purposes of this research were to examine the effects of positive behavior support on the problem, class participation behaviors of middle school students with intellectual disabilities. Subjects of this research were 3 students with intellectual disabilities whose grade were second of H special school in Jeollanam-do. For this study, multiple probe across subject design was applied. And using partial-interval recording, the events of action was measured. Also variation of each session were presented as graphs. Central termination of this study were as follows. First, positive behavior support was highly efficient in decreasing problem behaviors of students with intellectual disabilities. Problem behaviors and the incidence by each type were decreased. Decreased problem behaviors were maintained, and generalized in other class room situation. Second, positive behavior support was efficient in increasing class participation behaviors of students with intellectual disabilities. class participation behaviors and the incidence by each type were increased. increased problem behaviors were maintained, and generalized in other class room situation. In conclusion, positive behavior support were efficient way for affecting problem behaviors and class participation behaviors of students with intellectual disability positively.

In order to find the overall inclination of the hearing impaired for night activities, this study conducted a survey of students with hearing impairment who reach the end of puberty, 2nd and 3rd graders in highschool, from April 15, 2013 to May 3, 2013. The analysis of findings on the survey was made in three aspects: cognition, experience, and background variables. The conclusion of the analysis is as follow: in general, the hearing impaired have more fear of night, more difficulty in communicating at night and show stronger inclination of evading night activities than normal people. In addition, there are other discoveries as follow. First, of the hearing-impaired surveyed, 33.3 percent do not participate in night activities. Second, it implies that fear of night will be more of overcome by engaging in many night activities. Third, the hearing impaired either of whose parents are deaf can show stronger inclination of evading night activities. Fourth, there is a possibility not to do night activities for those whose hearing (remedied) is out of normal or normal limits(10∼25dB), and 30dB or more.

Although reading is one of the important skills to achieve during the early school age years, children with dyslexia have difficulty in reading. To develop and examine the suitability of a dyslexia-diagnosis test, this study conducted a preliminary validation study with 263 students including general students, reading underachievement students, reading disabilities students. The 11 testlet, 24 subtests and test items were developed through analyzing domestic and overseas preceding researches on reading including dyslexia, and dyslexia-related diagnosis tests. As a result of examining the validity of the test developed in this study, inter-item consistency was high at .815 and standard error of measurement was low form .328 to 2.025. In terms of validity, content validity was established by domestic and overseas preceding studies and test-analysis. As a result of conducting correlation analysis, confirmative factor analysis, and analysis comparing differences among groups, the developed diagnosis test turned out to be appropriate to diagnose students who show difficulty in reading including dyslexia. Based on such results, some discussions and implications were offered for standardization of dyslexiadiagnosis test.

The purpose of this study is to develop a safety and science integrated educational program for middle school students with special educational needs and to investigate its effect on their safety awareness. For this, the authors constructed a development framework in consideration of science subject of 2011 revised National Curriculum and Public Safety Consciousness Index (PSCI) by National Emergency Management Agency. And based on instructional systems design theory with 5 steps of analysis-designdevelop- practice-evaluation, a safety and science integrated educational program was developed with 8 topics in 3 safety areas like life, fire, and disaster. Seven students with special educational needs in an urban middle school joined in this study, and the science consciousness of the students was investigated before and after the lessons applying developed program. As a result of quantitative analysis for science consciousness and qualitative analysis for interview and lessons, the authors could find that a safety and science integrated educational program developed in this study had positive effect on science consciousness of middle school students with special educational needs.

The purpose of this study was to investigate the differences between the self-control, self-esteem, and emotional and behavioral problems of adolescents at risk for internet addiction and those of adolescents without risk. The participants were 60 adolescents at risk for internet addition who scored higher than 41 points based on the internet addiction scale and 61 adolescents without risk who scored lower than 16 points based on the internet addiction scale. The independent sample t-test and correlation coefficients were implemented for data analyses. The research results were as follows. First, the self-control of adolescents at risk for internet addiction was statistically significantly lower than that of adolescents without risk. Second, the self-esteem of adolescents at risk for internet addiction was statistically significantly lower than that of adolescents without risk. Third, the emotional and behavioral problems of adolescents at risk for internet addiction were statistically significantly higher than those of adolescents without risk. Fourth, the self-control of adolescents at risk for internet addiction was correlated with the self-esteem positively and the emotional and behavioral problems negatively. The limitations of the study, implications for special education settings, and suggestions for future research were discussed.

This study was designed to investigate preservice special education teachers`` perceptions on Augmented Reality(AR) in applying it to special educational environments. The subjects of this study were 183 college students majoring in special education who agreeing to answer the questionnaire. The data were collected by an online survey system. The results of this study were as follows: First, preservice special education teachers had relatively high expectations on applying AR to education for students with disabilities. Its reasons mentioned were that AR technology provides many experiential opportunities and more freedom which students with disabilities have not yet experienced. And preservice special education teachers also had concerns about applying AR to special education. Their concerns about AR were appeared in terms of the possibilities of students being excessively engaged in AR and being less interested in traditional learning materials. Second, AR presence perceived by preservice special education teachers were high enough to expect the future use of AR in special education classrooms in terms of its enjoyment, mutual communication, realization, and performance, whereas low expectations for AR``s accessibility and flow. Third, major factors affecting preservice special education teachers`` positive perceptions on AR were enjoyment and communication. Based on the results of the study, its implications and suggestions for future research were provided.

This study is to investigate the status of participation and operation of the project which was started from 2012 for creating job within each school and class and for the satisfaction of workers and persons in charge at this project. This study explores how workers and persons in charge of this project could increase their satisfaction and the project would be activated and be expanded. For this study, 152 workers and 146 persons in charge at this project in Gyeonggi province participated answering the survey. The data of the survey was analyzed by descriptive statistics, one way analysis of variance, Levene equal variance of verification, Scheffe test being used IBM SPSS Statistics 21.0. The results of study are as follow: The working period should be continued in order to improve the workers’ performance competency; When workers are hired, they should be given the chance of the prior education and practicum; It is necessary to have continuous follow-up management for workers; it should be equipped with a system which the worker salary should be used their living fee; We should have education for improving workers’ attitude; It is necessary to have working system of five-day cycle; The project of the creating job should be continued for the job of workers with disabilities.

This study was aimed to understand the process of career decision making of college students with disabilities, and offer theoretical frame. We interviewed 12 college students with disabilities and analyzed data using grounded theoryapproach. The study results were as follows; First, there were 99 concepts, 31 sub-categories, 12 categories revealed by open coding. Second, college students with disabilities experienced phenomenon of ‘making a limited and clear career decision’ on casual conditions of ‘entered college for career’, and ‘career decisionmaking can’t be delay’. This phenomenon was influenced by contextual conditionsof ‘human resources supporting’, and ‘career supporting system’. And college students with disabilities used coping strategies of ‘using college systems’, ‘endeavors to develop inner mind’, and ‘hope in working life’ depend on intervening conditions of ‘physical and emotional difficulties’, and ‘difficulties faced by career preparations’. The results of career decision making were ‘positive career preparations’ and ‘continuous efforts’. Third, the process ofcareer decision making was consisted of four phases; ‘exploration and choice’, ‘anxiety and confusion’, ‘regulation and transition’, and ‘challenge and growth’. And the core category was ‘growth as a member of society through continuous efforts. The findings in this study can be used for the basic data for counseling career decision making, developing career education programs, developing career support systems for college students with disabilities.

This study was conducted to analyze the degree of perceptions andacceptances of students who study in inclusive classrooms of the middle andhigh school where students with an autism spectrum disorder were integrated and to provide the results of this analysis as basic materials that can be used in the field of inclusive education. To do this, a questionnaire was distributed to 1073 students of the nine general middle and high schools in A and B Metropolitan City and C City, and the collected data were analyzed through descriptive statistics, frequency analysis, independent variables t-test, one way ANOVA, factor analysis, correlation analysis, and reliability analysis. The obtained results were as follows: First, students of the general middle and high school had recognized the neurobiological characteristics for autism spectrumdisorder, but had not specifically recognized the general characteristics and theacademic performance characteristics. And there were perceptions`` differences of the neurobiological and academic performance characteristics between the middle and high school students. Second, there were a little special experience for students with autism spectrum disorder, and the general acceptance and the advantages accommodate for autism spectrum disorder were lower. There were differences in special experience of the middle and high school students, but no differences in the general acceptance and the advantages accommodate. Based on the discussions of these results, it was presented the lessons to improve the quality of education and the educational environment for the general students and students with autism spectrum disorder.

This study is to research and analyze job satisfaction which is aimed at whom teaches at the night schools for people with disabilities, and thus to provide with basic information with the purpose of development of the night schools for the people with disabilities. First of all, a survey was conducted targeting 189 teachers from 20 schools, which has been analyzed for the study. According to the result, first, 2.39 points on average are recorded for the job satisfaction, which show slightly higher than the normal level. By subcategory, the satisfaction points of the curriculum organization are estimated to the highest, otherwise, the ones of the budget support are estimated to the lowest. Second, as the result of the job satisfaction difference according to the demographic features of the teachers concerned, male teachers are estimated to be more satisfied with their jobs than female teachers by gender. By age, the ones under 40-year-old and the ones over 61-year-old show the highest satisfaction, and by academic ability, the ones with graduate school diplomas orthe ones who attend graduate schools show the most highest satisfaction relatively. Third, according to the organizations features of the night schools for the people with disabilities, the study by area shows the lowest satisfaction points of the teachers working in Yeongnam area in general. In case of Gangwon and Jeju areas, the teachers are most unsatisfied with the facilities, but are most satisfied with the maintenance operation at the same time. Additionally, by school scale, the satisfaction points are considerably lower in case of the ones who work for the schools with more than 11 classes. Based on the study as above, an efficient operation method has been discussed.

This study aimed to examine the reliability and validity of the braille version of RA-RCP reading fluency sub-test. The subjects were 139 blind students of 12 schools for the visual impaired from the first grade through 12th grade. The instrument for measuring a reading fluency was used the reading fluency sub-test of RA-RCP. The results of the study are as follows: First, Cronbach’s α and test-retest reliability coefficient were more than 0.9 Second, concurrent validity between the word fluency of KOLRA and the reading fluency of RA-RCP were found significant correlations. And It tended to increase depending on the grade and the learning period of braille. So, the reliability and validity of the braille version of RA-RCP Reading Fluency assessment were demonstrated satisfactory level.
