Abstract
The purpose of the study is to examine the actual conditions of college entrance preparation and identify the predictors of decision making on the post high school academic path in high school students with disabilities. Furthermore, the study also aims to provide the students with ways to better make a decision on their post high school academic path. The Korean Education Longitudinal Study data(2005-2010), which was developed by the Korean Educational Development Institute, was used for the present study. The data is comprised of 289 high school students with disabilities enrolled in regular high schools nationwide. The chi-square test and the binary logistic regression analysis were used for analyzing the data. The study found that the majority of students with disabilities were involved in school based college preparation. They were motivated to enter higher education institutes for decent future employment opportunities. In addition, their family and school teachers were the significant contributors in their decision to enter college. ‘Private education’, ‘class mastery level’, and ‘career counseling’ were significant predictors in the decision of the future college education of high school students with disabilities. Based on these results, the study suggests ways to further support for high school students with disabilities regarding their future educational plan.

Abstract
The purpose of this study is to propose the direction of revision of the Korean language curriculum for the students with hearing impairment in perspective of Korean language subject matter and Korean language education for the students with hearing impairment. The main results are as follows; On the assumption that the Korean language curriculum for the students with hearing impairment has to be separated from Korean language curriculum for regular school, firstly, the analysis of linguistic views implied that simultaneous consideration of korean language using abilities and thinking abilities based on instrumental and developmental linguistic view, reflection of the deaf culture and their language, adaptation of instrumental linguistic view not functional view, establishment of the deaf identity as korean. The direction of revision of KLC for internalizing korean language rules is to compose core abilities centered curriculum and to intensify the integrated grammar education for improving students`` language accuracy. Finally, related to adoption of sign language into korean language curriculum, it’s necessary to include the sign language into korean language subject systematically, at sam time to open 『sign language』 subject, and the natural sign language(KSL) has to be introduced to the Korean language curriculum for the hearing impairment in perspective of linguistic moral and 2Bi-approach.

Abstract
The purpose of this study was to investigate the difference of elementary school general teachers`` and special school teachers`` perceptions toward STEAM education as the basic survey for the expansion of the STEAM education. For this purpose, a questionnaire was conducted targeting 269 general teachers and 73 special teachers working at the elementary and special schools in D city and using the SPSS 21.0 statistical program, the frequency analysis, the cross-analysis of the ratio, T-test, and one-way ANOVA were conducted. The major findings are as follows: First, there were the difference of perceptions between two groups about the information of STEAM education, the experience of actual application to class of STEAM education, and the training opportunities in STEAM education and the career working at research school. The teachers at the elementary schools had more information and experience than the teachers at the special schools. Second, two groups of teachers agreed to the need and the expected effects of STEAM education, and then there were no significant difference between two groups. They thought the STEAM education provide a new way of learning opportunities, and increase learning skills and learning interest. Finally, the two groups of teachers expressed the active participation in the training related to STEAM education. And with regard to the educational content of training they thought the class types and cases and the development of training materials much more important than a educational theory. As a result, we propose the study on the application method of STEAM education in the special schools and the strengthening of the training in STEAM education through the research on the educational experience of special teachers.

Abstract
The purpose of this study was to examine the trends of career and vocational education of students with intellectual disabilities in Japan, and to present implications for Korea. At the beginning of the 2000s, in Japan, categories such as vocational guidance and career guidance were changed to career education, and since career education was emphasized in general education, the concepts and practices of career education also came to affect the education of students with intellectual disabilities. In Japan, career education in the area of intellectual disabilities means both performing activities aimed at self-reliance and participating in society, from childhood through school days and into adulthood, systematically and with consistency, and continuity. This study discussed the meaning and background of career education in Japan followed by the meaning and contents of career education for students with intellectual disabilities in Japan. In this study, the concrete contents of practice of such career education were examined, focusing on the status of career education in curricula for students with intellectual disabilities, the contents and characteristics of development stage table for promoting the development of the careers of students with intellectual disabilities, and individualized education support plans. The following results were derived from the above study. First, the objectives and contents in national special education curriculum in Japan is closely related to career education and the term “career education" has been used in national special education curriculum for high school for the first time from the 2009 revision. In this revision, practical vocational education and career guidance, long-term field practices, and a cooperative relationship with related institutions, business corporations in local communities, and homes have been emphasized. Second, the development stage table suggested an index that can recognize career and vocational education for primary, middle, and high school students (for 12 years) of special support schools in terms of career education systematically. Based on the table, various communities and schools have created their own career development stage table to promote systematic career education in Japan. Third, creation of individualized education support plans has been mandatory in the education curriculum for special support schools which was publicly noticed in March 2009. The individualized education support plans is to provide educational guidance or support in order to perform educational support effectively and appropriately via related parties and institutions by identifying the requirements from individual students from the viewpoint of lifetime support of disabled students. In Japan, the individualized education support plans has been recognized as an important tool to promote career education. Based on the cases in Japan, this study suggested the implications to improvement direction to career and vocational education for students with intellectual disabilities in Korea.

Abstract
This paper explores the cinematic representation of disability in a highly praised Korean film, Marat’on(2005), directed by Chong Yunch’ol, and illuminates the process by which disability, as a political identity and embodiment of lived experience, is co-opted by patriarchy and neoliberalism. In doing so, the paper first situates the film within the context of the “male in crisis” believed to be caused by the 1997 Korean economic breakdown. Then, it employs three theoretical concepts to critically read the film. Lastly, it textually analyzes the film in light of its narrative structure, character development, genre, and styles. The paper has two main arguments. First, Marat’on reflects and reinscribes a hegemonic idea of disability and gender. In the film, the dominant ideologies of patriarchy and neoliberalism are rearticulated by way of blaming a mother of an autistic son and remasculinizing the son with the familiar trope of “supercrip.” Second, disability as a representational strategy works to connect remasculinization and neoliberalization. In the film, the disabled son embodies the link and faithfully serves as a vehicle for disseminating neoliberal masculinity. The paper further suggests that disability becomes a visual signifier for (nondisabled)male suffering brought on by the economic crisis as well as an object that needs to be overcome for a new masculinized subjectivity. More importantly, overcoming disability is a rationale for subjugating another fellow marginalized group, especially a woman.

As a result of qualitative in-depth interview, teachers recognized that parents should be involved more in transition process through continuous communication and cooperation in order for students with intellectual disabilities to have positive transition outcome. Some parents actively participate in the transition process while some parents do not participate in the transition process actively and cooperate with teachers due to many reasons such as economic issue. Second, special education teachers perceived the importance of teacher roles in improving the involvement of parents and other family members in this process. However, the teachers perceived their implementation of this factor as relatively low. Thus, it is necessary for us to provide qualitative parental education and teachers should build reliable relationship through teachers`` active attitude. It could encourage parents to participate in transition process more actively.

Abstract
Dichotic digit test is a high validity clinical test for providing information on the hemispheric and interhemispheric lesions and is widely used for screening and diagnosing central auditory processing disorders (CAPD). The purpose of this study was to develop Korean dichotic digit test and provide normative values for children and adults. Prior to the development of the test, errors were analyzed in 90 pairs of 1-digit and 180 pairs of 2-digit to rule out phonemic similarities of Korean numbers 1 through 10 in the manner of dichotic listening by testing 20 young adults with normal hearing. The final test developed in this study was composed of 1-3 digit lists with 20 items for each list, excluding the number 2 in which showed the most number of errors. To prepare for the age norms, the developed dichotic digit test was performed on 272 subjects from the age of 7-12 years old and 95 college students in 20s. 1 and 2 digit tests were applied to all age groups while 3 digit test examined only for the adult group. The results for 7 to 20 years showed that the performance significantly increased as age increased, and decreased as the number of digits increased. The response showed as 95.3-99.5% in right ear, 89.2-98.7% in left ear for 1 digit test and 66.9-92.3% in right ear, and 59.8-89.9% in left ear for 2 digit test. There were significant REAs for the age of 8-9 years in the 2 digit pair conditions and performance approached the adult level for the age of 12 years. The dichotic digit test showed significantly high test-retest reliability and validity, which in validity showed significant correlation with speech recognition test. The normative values of Korean dichotic digit test with 1-3 digits were presented and the results indicate that 2 digit test is the most appropriate for CAPD diagnosis.

Abstract
The purpose of this study was to make a analysis of research literatures 21 theses, dissertations and articles that offered milieu language intervention for children with intellectual retardation only in between 1992 and July of 2014. The findings of the study were as follows: First, the most common goal of the intervention was to improve communicative competency. Many of the studies provided the intervention primarily for preschoolers and elementary school students, which denoted that this intervention was applied much to preschoolers and elementary school students. The most dominant place for the intervention was schools, followed by welfare centers. As for the time for the intervention, the most common case was providing it separately without using the regular timetable, and the second most case was doing it during play. The third most case was using a time for a special purpose, and the fourth most case was using a time for eating between meals. Second, concerning instrumentation, the case that an intelligence test, adjustment test and language test were all conducted at the same time accounted for 52.4 percent. In the case of intelligence test, the case that KEDI-WISC and DAP(Draw-a-Person) were both utilized accounted for 19 percent. Regarding instruments for communication diagnosis, PEP(Psycho Educational Profile) accounted for 42.9 percent. Third, as for PND according to the age of language development, it produced a medium level of effect in the initial stage of intervention, but the effect wasn``t statistically significant. Fourth, reinforced milieu language intervention was highly effective in the baseline and the intervention stage 1, but the effect was not statistically significant. The use of milieu language intervention was more prevailing than that of reinforced milieu language intervention.

Abstract
The purpose of this study is to explore mothers’ perspectives on young children with autism. Focused interviews were conducted with five mothers who have young children with autism. The data were analyzed by the constant comparative method. In the findings, four themes emerged: (1) the integration of the children with autism with their peers, (2) concerns about their being in the regular classroom, (3) the attitudes expected of teachers (4) the desire for consulting to put mother``s minds at ease. The mothers of young children with autism want their children to interact with peers in the educational setting. However, they have concerns about their children being in inclusive classrooms because they might bother their peers and teachers, or be bullied by other students. Also, they have expectations of teachers, such as accepting their children and taking care to explain material, and they would like to have consulting to put their minds at ease and help them maintain a positive perspective. In general, they rely on the teacher``s role in educating their children. It is necessary to find ways to inform parents of the best ways their can be educated.
